R-410a, also known as Puron, is an HFC refrigerant widely used in air conditioning systems. It is commonly used to replace R-22, which is being phased out due to its ozone-depleting properties. R-410a is near azeotropic, with a very low temperature glide and almost no fractionation potential, and must therefore only be used in systems specifically designed to handle the high pressure of this refrigerant.
